Determined to be Free
Perhaps you have heard an explanation of the beginning of WW1: the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand being the event that set off the beginning of the global conflict that lasted until 1918. Since the assassination occurred (along with historical militarism and inter-national angst), the war must occur. Once the Archduke is dead, Austria’s allies must react — like dominoes falling over. The existence of Event 1 causes Event 2, and means Event 2 “can’t not” exist, just as once the first domino falls, the second “can’t not” fall.
