Determined to be Free, part 2

Free will is a fairly well-known idea and yet a complex one. Determinism is the idea that all of the world’s events are determined by previously existing causes. People who believe in determinism (determinists) can be classified as hard determinists or soft determinists. Hard determinism posits that free will does not exist (because it is incompatible with determinism). Soft determinism posits that free will does exist (because it is compatible with determinism).
