Being results-based means you are more focused and concerned about the consequences of some event.

Being process-based means you are more focused and concerned about the actions and decisions that lead there.

Results are a function of signal and noise. f(signal, noise) or f(process, other_stuff). In the below graph, results = signal + noise for simplicity.
